Pre-wedding | Engagement session on Piha {Auckland wedding photographers}

So excited to share with you a recent pre-wedding | engagement session gallery with Grace & Andrew on Piha beach and Karekare Falls {Auckland}. It was such amazing experience, a little bit pity we cant be couples wedding photographers, as they come all the way over from Canada to have this couples photo shoot in the wild and beautiful New Zealand!

Breathtaking experience and natural, romantic, beautiful and real photographs, memories for years to come!

We started our session from Karekare Falls in West Auckland and finish at sunset on Piha Beach.

Couple shared their love story: “We have been together for 10 years - nearly 11. We met while we were volunteering at a Christmas event in High School - we were volunteering to help kids make gingerbread cookies. Andrew pretended he didn't know how to tie a knot for the bags and that's where it all started. “

Proposal: “We were driving to Jasper, Alberta (which is where our mountains/ national park is). We stopped at one of the pit stops on the road to "take some photos" but he surprised me all of a sudden with a ring. Lots of cars on the road were honking (for congratulations) and thus I partly did not hear his speech (which I made him repeat again in the car) haha. Then we spent a few days in Jasper :)” Amazing story!

Enjoy highlights with candid moments!

Markovina Vineyard Estate: Chrissy and Craig {Auckland wedding photographer}

Im so honoured to capture this beautiful couple’s moments in Markovina Vineyard Estate, where Chrissy and Craig celebrated their special moments with friends and family {in Auckland, New Zealand}. I’m so glad to be their wedding photographer and document such beautiful, emotional, and real moments.

Couple shared their romantic story: “We met at work in the Police and were on the same frontline section together. We got along so well and our friendship turned into something more approximately 6 months later and have been together ever since. By the time we get married it will be just over 7 years of being together, we built our first house together and have so much love for our two pets, Nala (dog) and Leo (cat).”

How did he propose? “We planned a trip away to Queenstown for our 6 year anniversary and Craig told me he was going to organise our anniversary dinner. We stayed in an amazing private hotel over looking the lake and on the morning of our anniversary we got up and went skiing for the day which was so much fun. When we returned to our hotel I got dressed (as told to by Craig-without knowing what we were doing) and we walked down to Botswana Butchery where Craig had arranged for a private dinner in one of their private rooms. After our delicious dinner we walked back to the hotel and a car was waiting for us. We got into the car and were driven to Onsen Hot Pools (which are private hotpools overlooking the Shotover River). Shortly after I was told our pool was ready and that we would catch up with Craig on our way to the pool however we didn't see him so the lady said she would direct him to where I was afterwards. I was lead to our room where I opened the door and saw Craig staying there, he had gotten changed into his full suit with tie and jacket. There was a deck surrounding the pool and on one side of the deck were 6 photo frames with photos of memorable moments in our relationship (buying our first house, overseas holidays, our cat and our dog) to the other side were letters standing up saying Marry Me with red roses and some bubbles underneath. He said a little speech and got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Craig had designed the engagement ring himself and it was exactly what I wanted. Everything about he proposal was prefect in every way.” This is such an amazing story!

Winter maternity session in Auckland {New Zealand wedding-family photographer}

I just love to shoot winter maternity session as this one with Charlotte and Farres. Couple come over to Auckland - New Zealand from Abu-Dhabi. Its such a honour for me, wedding and family photographer, to capture so special for this couple moments!

Its so exciting to create these treasured memories of expecting a little miracle. We went to Riverhead Forest and Muriwai Beach, and had such amazing time at stunning New Zealand landscapes.

Enjoy these highlights of sneak peek! Cant wait to move through their final gallery!

Kauri Bay Boomrock - Clevedon: Celeste and Leo {Auckland wedding photographers}

Kauri Bay Boomrock {Clevedon} such a stunning location in Auckland, not surprising Celeste & Leo choose this wedding venue to celebrate their special day. It was great honour for us to be their wedding photographers.

The weather was so amazing for this autumn wedding at the end of May. There was still plenty of beautiful colours on the trees. It was so great to spend a day in such an amazing place with everything on one site and to meet the sunset on the hills just before the reception.

Couple shared their love story: "12 LONG Years! Haha! We meet at high school, so yes high school sweethearts. I first caught sight of Leo as he was standing in the bus line. My friend liked his older brother and was pointing him out but all I saw was Leo. I was smitten. Leo first caught sight of me at a Rowing Regatta and during Mufti Day at school. We were friends for about a year and half before we actually became boyfriend and girlfriend. We've never looked back. We definitely have had our ups & downs but each bought our relationship a new memory, a new strength, growth in our love and friendship. We are so alike we can think of each other and one of us will call the other. Just like ESP. Two peas in a pod."

Their proposal was so amazing: "We were on holiday in BC, Vancouver. It was late Jan and still snow was all around. We booked a day trip out to Whistler where in the morning we did zip lining. Absolutely amazing! But Leo wasn't himself. I just thought jetlag. He then said he really wanted to do the peak to peak gondola. I turn and here Leo is down on one knee, and with the cheeky grin I know and LOVE so much he simple said. "Will you marry me". I cried and said "Yessss!" So we're so overcome with love and happiness (Leo because I said yes and me because I'd only been waited 11 years) that we spend the whole day taking photos with the ring on the wrong finger!"

Tips on wedding planning for our awesome couples {Auckland - New Zealand weddings photographers}

It's time to reflect last season and create some tips on wedding planning for our awesome couples {as we shot so many Auckland, New Zealand weddings and as photographers can see what can help you to make your wedding day go flawless!}. Let the adventure begin:

pre-wedding photography New Zealand {Auckland engagement photographer}

Before the wedding day:

  1. Delegate tasks. {ask your parents, bridesmaids, and even groom!!! to help you with different tasks, it can make your wedding planning less stressful. You know they would love it! You can find their secret talents and passions {organise flowers, dance teacher, invitations etc.}
  2. Be well prepared for the wedding day and be ready to go with the flow {expect the unexpected!}. Get water, snacks - you will be starving after the ceremony!!! Prepare gifts for your bridesmaids, groomsmen, and letters for each other {its a nice touch and allow us to capture more emotional moments}
  3. Think about your timeline - allow yourself to have time to breathe and not rush into every event of the day. Consider to do a first look with Dad {it is such a particular moment when dad sees you for the first time in the wedding dress}.
  4. Let's go for an adventure on your pre-wedding | engagement photo shoot {we recommmend to schedule it at least 2-3 months before your wedding, earlier is better!}. You can choose a different to your wedding venue location {beach, waterfall, city landscape, lake, river, farm, lifestyle at home or cafe | library etc.}
  5. Plan a photography coverage: start getting ready at least 1-1.5 hour before leaving for the ceremony and finish time 0.5-1 hour after your first dance. First, things can run late and second, it helps to add to the story some moments before the ceremony - backstage and let you get used to the cameras and after the first dance - fun and party spirit with guests dancing - to tell a complete story of your wedding day. Note, we no need to have 2-3 hours for dancing photos as often same people are dancing and equal people are not dancing! :) You can extend your coverage if you feel you want to capture some special events {boys play golf or shooting at morning, girls do something special together, or there sparkles exit, many traditional dances at the reception, etc.
  6. Send us a complete questionnaire one month before your wedding. Create a family groups list. We recommend to limit it by up to 10 groupings as each group take 3 minutes and big groups up to 10 minutes each. Make sure you have a shepherd - the person who quick will gather the family together.
  7. Check the weather day before the wedding and get clear umbrellas for bride and groom or full wedding party {just in case}, you can get them in 1-2-3 dollars shops.
  8. Get plenty of sleep and rest before the wedding day to look your best!

Wedding Day

  1. It's time to relax and go with the flow. No matter how the weather looks like, or if something goes wrong {celebrant lost in the middle of nowhere, the band is few hours late, or caterers taking their time. You will be fine! Just enjoy this time of your life!
  2. It's not a photo shoot; it's your wedding day! We need you to feel relaxed and allow yourself to go with the flow. Its the happiest day of your life {you will have sparkles in your eyes, and we will capture it}.
  3. Try to spend time with important for you people. Firstly, they appreciate it, second, we can get special for your family and friends photos of natural, candid moments where you are talking with them.Take your time to take congratulations and hugs right after the ceremony. No need to jump into family formals photos right away. Enjoy this time! It will give us the opportunity to capture more natural and candid moments!
  4. Don't forget to eat and drink. We found if you drink enough water on the wedding day you feel much better next morning!
  5. Try to have some time away from the bridal party during our photo shoot. You no need any audience for such intimate photos of two of you along.
  6. We can also sneak out of reception during the epic sunset {weather permitted}, you can plan around 20 min for it, while guests are eating or enjoying their conversations. There also a chance of nighttime creative photos with flash if wedding coverage allows.
  7. We will come to you 10-15 min before our finish time to check if there any more photo requests, to not miss anything significant for you.
  8. Relax, enjoy the party and dance away! We will make sure to document these moments!

  2. Enjoy your honeymoon, time of your life.

  4. The package will come your way a few weeks after online gallery went life: USB with artistic retouched high and low-resolution images and hand-picked 6x4" prints on fine art paper. I love this real touch!
  5. We will start working on your custom album design. Choose your favourites in an online gallery or let us decide on the final look. Its so good to hold something real in your hands, treasured memories for years to come!

Darshika and Joneet: Colourful Indian Wedding | Church Ceremony {Auckland weddings photographers}

Why do I love to capture cultural weddings? Because they have rich traditions, warm and cosy atmosphere and colour! Like this Darshika and Joneet's colourful Indian wedding with a church ceremony in Auckland, NZ. It such a pleasure for wedding photographers to meet such fantastic inspiration. We started our day in Manukau, follow to the church at East Tamaki, then bridal party and bride and groom photos in Auckland Botanic Gardens and finish the day with the amazing reception at Pukekohe. Moments in Christchurch {New Zealand wedding-elopement photographers}

I spent such fantastic time with such emotional moments in Christchurch with many talented New Zealand wedding-elopement photographers who come all the way from Auckland, Kerikeri, Tauranga, Rotorua, Queenstown, Wanaka to visit a great non-workshop - workshop {Badass}. It was so good to spent this time away as Im just about to launch my own workshop | ebook for modern photographers with Click Photo School - such incredible resource of online education for any photographer. I needed to change the atmosphere! {you can find more details about my educational project follow the link to Mentoring | Portfolio Review | Tutorials | Ebook | Breakout}

The idea of this educational for photographers event was to catch up, share some knowledge, recharge at the end of wedding season, get some new inspiration and have a rest in gorgeous old classic style mansion.

We had such a blast - amazing time with beautiful people, where Ambers from Perspectives, Olga from Wild & Grace, Nardia from Nardia Burst photography, Tegan and host of the workshop Sarah Clements been talking all things weddings and we all together discussed so many questions, shared ideas and inspiration.

We also had a chance to get to the Port Hills where amazing couple Jenna & Scott been our models for the short time {it was freezing on the hills, they did such amazing job staying calm}, and Gemma gave us a chance to take some maternity photos {she is a fellow wedding photographer herself}. It was such a great time with beautiful people!

I truly enjoyed every moment! Thank you Tegan and Sarah for organising it and having all us there!

Fantastic time with Sophia & Jethro in North Auckland at their farm wedding near Mangawhai and Puhoi. We start getting ready in Mangawhai and then went to the farm at Puhoi, also ha an excellent opportunity to visit Wenderholm Regional park for couple's session with the bridal party, and finished at the reception under the marquee with 200 guests. It was such amazing day with a great atmosphere.

Eagle Ridge Estate - Rochelle and Matt - Tauranga weddings {Auckland based wedding photographers}

These beautiful people - Rochelle & Matt get married at such a stunning place as Eagle Ridge Estate {Tauranga, New Zealand} with fantastic views and warm and cosy atmosphere. It was a pleasure for us, their wedding photographers, to make a trip from Auckland to capture so unique for couple moments with their friends, family and all the emotions!

Lucky we already met at their family - engagement photo shoot {you can check gallery highlights in our Blog}, so it was a pleasure to see their boys and parents again.

There was a surprise twist as Rochelle prepared two wedding dresses, both of them was so amazingly beautiful with gorgeous details, especially at the back, love it!

The couple shared their romantic story: "Matt and I met 3.5 years ago through mutual friends. Matt facebook stalked me by looking through the mutual friend's friendslist and often asked them to "hook us up". They didn't do this and declined to do so for a long time, but I knew about it and him. About six months later, when I was catching up with the mutual friends, I thought to myself, I should and am ready to meet this guy, and I should ask them to arrange it. During lunch my friend says to me without my mentioning anything, "I think you should meet this guy, what if I'm getting in the way of love by not letting you two meet each other" So from there, I told her to tell him to add me on facebook which he did. At this time Matt and I travelled a lot for our work, we both happened to be in Wellington at the same time, and tee'd up a "date" which went well, so we need up to another more formal date the following weekend when we were back in Auckland. He took me to a romantic French Restaurant, I had an allergic reaction to either the Lesgargot or the French dessert wine, and he had to take me home really early.... Luckily my sneezy puffy face with crying eyes didn't scare him away.... and the rest is happily ever togetherness and foreverness history xxx" The proposal: "Poor Matt tried to Propose many many times. Apparently, the ring had been out with us many times while Paddleboarding, hiking and out on dinner dates, Fiji, and another promise type ring in Noosa. Eventually, he managed to pull it off during one of our hikes."
